Dr. Mehmet Tuğberk Dekak

Founding Partner & Attorney

Dr. Mehmet Tuğberk DEKAK is a lawyer registered at the Ankara Bar Association and one of the founders of Juris Attorney Partnership. He is experienced in National & International Arbitration, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Law, Insurance Law and Commercial Contract Law. DEKAK, who also has academic studies in the fields of Insurance Law and International Arbitration Law, has both academic and practical knowledge and experience in the resolution of commercial and investment disputes through arbitration. He has been acting as an arbitrator at Insurance Arbitration Commission since January 2025.

He has experience in both buy-side and sell-side representation in the M&A processes of companies and carries out consultancy activities on share transfer agreements, share subscription agreements, shareholders' agreements. He has also acted as counsel in many contract-based cases such as partnership agreements, commercial sale of goods agreements, construction contracts, construction consultancy agreements, commercial lease agreements. DEKAK also provides external legal consultancy services to many companies operating in the construction and infrastructure, insurance and reinsurance, energy, software, food, automotive and e-commerce sectors.

  1. Acted as counsel for the claimant Turkish company operating in the Energy sector in an arbitration case against the State of Turkmenistan before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) (ICSID ARB/24/13),

  2. Acted as counsel for the claimant Turkish company operating in the Construction sector in an arbitration case against the State of Turkmenistan before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) (ICSID ARB/20/32),

  3. Acted as counsel for the claimant Turkish natural person in an arbitration case before the Istanbul Arbitration Centre (ISTAC) arising out of a shareholders’ agreement (ISTAC 2024 IA/1410),

  4. Acted as counsel for the Respondent Turkish company in an arbitration case before the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), against a Russian company arising out of a sale of goods contract (LCIA Arb No: 246145),

  5. Acted as counsel for the claimant Turkish company in an arbitration case before the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), based in Paris, against a Moroccan company arising out of an implementation project contract (ICC 27483/ELU),

  6. Acted as counsel for the respondent Turkish company in an arbitration case before the Istanbul Arbitration Centre (ISTAC) arising out of a software maintenance contract (ISTAC 2022 DA/320),

  7. Acted as counsel for the claimant Turkish company in an arbitration case arising out of a contract for the sale of commercial goods before the Ankara Arbitration and Mediation Centre (Ankara Mediation and Arbitration Centre),

  8. Acted as counsel for the complainant operating in the automotive sector in a multiple domain name arbitration dispute before the World Intellectual Property Organization Court of Arbitration (WIPO),
